Accomplishments

Resources 

– Secured 40 therapists, supplemental care providers and treatment facilities in our Approved Care Network throughout the nation who are vetted, trauma-focused practitioners

– Curated over 100 recommended articles, books, videos, and websites on various topics related to abuse and mental health through a trauma-focused lens

– Released 1 Educational Short Film in partnership with the world renowned Trauma Center at JRI and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, entitled Never Give Up, on Complex Trauma for Youth and Young Adults which has an accompanying Resource Guide (also see Education and Empowerment sections)

Education

– Provided a two-part training (52 hours) in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), an evidence-based treatment modality for trauma, to therapists across the Children’s Alliance, in partnership with Face It Movement and Children’s Alliance, serving Kentucky’s most vulnerable and at risk children.

– Released 1 Online Continuing Education Unit

– Released 1 Online Educational Video

– Presented 2 separate Continuing Education Units at in-person trainings

– Given 12 educational and inspirational speaking engagements including keynote and breakout speeches at conferences (to students, mental health and medical professionals, staff at a domestic violence shelter, women in a residential program, adoption professionals, etc.)

– Presented 1 workshop alongside internationally renowned trauma expert Peter Levine, PhD and Betsy Polatin

Empowerment

– 1 soon to be released Public Service Announcement (PSA) on Domestic Violence

– Partnered with Moxie The Label and Ladies of Iron which create unique goods with healing messages and give a portion of the proceeds to Healing TREE

– Participated in 1 panel engagement after premiere of Never Give Up at the NCTSN All Network Conference

– Partnered with several Artist Advocates, including Emily Althaus of Orange is the New Black, who shared a video on Healing TREE to her over 100K social media followers
