Mechele de Avila Evans, LCSW earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1994. She has always been drawn to working with people recovering from trauma and has done this work for over 20 years. Mechele uses whichever techniques her clients respond to, including but not limited to: talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Mechele also works with substance abuse issues that can be co-occurring with trauma. She is a gentle and concerned therapist who feels blessed to work in her vocation. Mechele has begun her private practice in New Orleans in 2006, helping Hurricane Katrina Survivors. She now has a private practice in the Baton Rouge Psychiatry Clinic in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Dr. Mazzei is a Health Psychologist specializing in anxiety, trauma/PTSD, addiction, phobias, postpartum depression, health anxiety, and insomnia. She has years of clinical experience using EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), hypnosis, and biofeedback to help others overcome a traumatic past and facilitate empowerment.
