Avis Augustine-Miller, LPC, LMHC, CPC, NCC, CCMHC worked in Emergency services as a Certified Prescreener for over seven years. She was also the Program Manager of Horizon’s Adult Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit, the Women’s Recovery Residence as well as the Emergency Services and the Food Services Departments. Avis has trained in trauma approaches to expand her treatment repertoire to better serve this population.

Robyn Sheiniuk has dedicated over 25 years to working with clients experiencing trauma and all the impact trauma causes. Trauma can leave you feeling depressed, numb, wanting to isolate, anxious, irritable, sad, feeling like you can’t trust anyone or not wanting to engage in life. Traumas can be both big and small like a car accident, a sexual assault, or repeated experiences from your childhood that left you feeling alone, like no one understood you, or feeling like you didn’t belong in your family.
Through the use of EMDR we’ll help you re-process those traumas and less the intensity of the emotions attached to them. EMDR uses eye movements to help your brain reprocess trauma. Robyn has seen tremendous success using EMDR with clients who have participated in traditional talk therapy without getting the relief they were looking for.
