Brigitta Karelis, M.A., LPC, was born in Germany where she completed a Diplom (M.A.) in Paedagogik in 1991. After working with political refugees in Germany, she moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1994 and completed an M.A. in Somatic Psychology at Naropa University in 1997, subsequently serving as adjunct faculty for 12 years.
She has maintained a private psychotherapy practice since 1997 and taught internationally for the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute from 1999 until 2019. She has worked with many kinds of trauma, including the deep pain that can come from mis-recognition: standing strong in your goodness, truth, and dignity, when faced with bias and negative projections.
Her main modality is Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.  Her work is informed by over 30 years of practicing and teaching meditation, Aikido, other movement studies, and her deep appreciation and respect for the power of the body-mind connection – how it can lead to healing, resourcefulness, resilience, and skillful communication in daily life. Her specialties are healing from effects of trauma, grief, life transition, and healthy boundaries. She considers her work an art of transformation.

He has a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University. He holds certifications in Gestalt and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy Addiction’s Counseling, Personal Fitness Training and has received specialty training for the treatment of trauma, as well as developmental and attachment issues from the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.

Exercise and resistance training in particular are well known preventive health measures which are also effective for improving mental health, treating post-acute withdrawal, depression, and anxiety.

George has created CBSTTM (Characterological Based Strength Training) a method combining Psychotherapy and Fitness. CBSTTM takes into account a person’s bodily expression (posture, movements, and structural changes in the body that may result) of habitual emotions, beliefs about themselves, and beliefs about what is or isn’t possible. This method may be used to address depression, anxiety, “stuck” or repeating life patterns, and trauma/ptsd. This is a truly holistic method of psychotherapy and the st method in the world to combine Psychotherapy and Fitness Training.

George believes that healing happens when we are in relationship with others, ourselves, and our environment. He works with individuals on cognitive, spiritual and somatic levels to deepen therapeutic effectiveness by engaging the whole system in the healing process, drawing upon 11 years of training in Psychology and psychotherapeutic technique.

Address: 100 Arapahoe Ave, Suite 8

Dylan Rivard is a counselor and guide working in Boulder, CO. He offers one-on-one counseling services and if you are feeling stuck in your life, but also know that something needs to change, he may be able to help. Dylan understands that many of our dysfunctional patterns are rooted in traumatic experiences we have had throughout our life. He has years of experience working with people struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, substance abuse, eating disorders, and life transitions. Many of these patterns emerge as an initially healthy impulse to effectively cope with a traumatized nervous system, and by dealing with the underlying pain we can effectively dismantle these patterns from the inside out. Whether you are an individual on your own, or a teenager struggling in your family, he can work to clarify the intentions behind your behavior, and in doing so find the acceptance and integrity needed to initiate real change.

If your state isn’t green, or if you don’t see a provider who meets your specific needs, please see the “Don’t see a provider who meets your needs here?” section below so we can get to work finding you a good fit.

Please mention that you were referred by Healing TREE when / if you reach out to anyone in our Approved Care Network. Special rates and scheduling arrangements may be possible with some of our providers.

The providers alone, and not Healing TREE, are responsible for the care that they provide. Healing TREE has, to the best of our ability, vetted their practices and made sure that they understand, are capable of, and trained in treating trauma. Please note: We do not check licenses / certificates for providers within treatment facilities. Please contact the facility directly for updated licensure. Currently, our network of approved care and supplemental care providers is only in the USA. If you have any questions or concerns about any of these providers, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Don’t see a provider who meets your needs here?
